Even though often classified as traditional solutions, hollow bricks with horizontal perforation show relatively large perforations. As the technologies evolve, the number of perforations inside the brick increased and the perforations became thinner and thinner. Some bricks are now fitted with grooves and tongues at the vertical joints so as to improve the tightness and the thermal and sound insulation, when the vertical joints are not bricked up. Slide rails or mortar pockets have also been created to ease the bricks laying and grooving in one another but also to decrease the thermal transfer at the joint.
CERIC Technologies is participating at developing those technologies in partnership with its customers through customized solutions.
The alveolar structure combined with the natural qualities of the clay allows building both bearing and insulating walls. Walls and insulation can be achieved at the same time. The hollow bricks with vertical perforation, thanks to their thermal inertia, perfectly regulate the housing's inside temperature.
CERIC Technologies designs full installations for the manufacture of these vertical perforated insulating bricks.
The insulating qualities of the bricks are even improved with the addition of pore forming agents (sawdust, polystyrene, paper pulp) inside the raw material. Those bricks can also be rectified after firing, in order to use thin mortar joints to limit heat losses.
Design is essential for building. Facing brick offers lots of possibilities. It is possible to modify the colours, the shades, the textures, the colour of the joints and thus offer various looks to a façade. This decorative element is available with solid or perforated bricks or even reinforcing pieces with numerous accessories. Its design and its technical qualities make this traditional product a modern and high-return solution for future proof façades.
Wiser for its experience, CERIC Technologies offers global solutions adapted to its customers' market.
